Welcome to the highly anticipated reveal week of our One Room Challenge journey!
Over the past eight weeks, we've embarked on transforming our primary bedroom.
From removing the carpet and installing gorgeous wood floors to adding layers of details and crazy beautiful wallpapers and fabrics. We've poured our hearts into creating a space that feels like a boutique hotel and we are giddy that we get to wake up here every day!
Let me remind you what we started with...grey, carpet, boring....and a chandelier Seth has hated from day 1.
New Flooring:
Our makeover began by bidding farewell to the old carpet and embracing the timeless beauty of wood floors from Castle Bespoke Flooring. With the help of Bona adhesive, we installed these stunning floors that instantly added warmth and sophistication to the room.
Wainscoting and Wall Treatment:
To elevate the overall aesthetic, we opted for the classic charm of wainscoting. We meticulously filled, sanded, primed, and painted the walls with a deep and captivating Design Edition color from Sherwin Williams. The result? A perfect backdrop that exudes elegance and sets the stage for our bedroom oasis.
Illuminating Wall Sconces:
Creating a cozy and inviting ambiance was paramount to our bedroom makeover. To achieve this, we installed beautiful wall sconces from Alora Lighting on the headboard wall. These fixtures not only provide practical lighting but also add a touch of sophistication and charm to the space.
Ceiling Transformation:
To truly make our bedroom a haven, we turned our attention to the often-neglected ceiling. We crafted a stunning millwork frame and adorned it with Thibaut's grasscloth paper, which gracefully extended to the walls as well. This unique treatment brought a sense of texture and luxury to the room, creating a truly captivating atmosphere.
A Regal King-Sized Bed:
No primary bedroom is complete without a grand and comfortable bed. With that in mind, we embarked on building a king-sized bed ourselves. We upholstered it using Thibaut fabrics, including a navy mohair that adds a touch of opulence to the space. This centerpiece became the epitome of relaxation and indulgence.
Custom Curtains and Finishing Touches:
To add a sense of softness and luxury, we installed custom-made curtains using Thibaut fabric and delicate trim. These curtains beautifully frame the windows, allowing just the right amount of natural light to filter into the room. In addition, we replaced all door handles, bedside table hardware, and dresser pulls with stylish selections from Emtek, perfectly complementing the room's aesthetic.
Furniture, Pillows, and Duvet:
Finally, it was time to bring in the furniture that would complete our dream bedroom. We carefully selected pieces that harmonized with the overall design, ensuring both style and functionality. To add pops of color, we adorned the bed with custom pillows and a duvet made from Thibaut fabrics. These finishing touches brought everything together, adding comfort, personality, and a sense of indulgence.
And finally....how to keep our bedroom calm and clutter free? Docking Drawer outlets in our bedside tables!
The eight weeks of the One Room Challenge have culminated in a truly remarkable transformation of our primary bedroom. From the flooring to the ceiling, every detail has been meticulously planned and executed to create a space that speaks to our personal style and provides a sanctuary of relaxation and comfort. We are thrilled with the results and look forward to many restful nights and peaceful mornings in our newly revamped oasis. Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey!
